When Dr. Andrew Ford was a child he didn't want to be a veterinarian. Instead he wanted to be a paleontologist. The year was also 1993 and Jurassic Park had just been released. It wasn't until his family got their first dog, a crazy Labrador named Chayse, when Andrew realized he wanted to be a vet. In high school he started working at his local veterinary clinic and that sealed it.
In 2010 Dr. Ford graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). Since then he has practiced in Ontario, Labrador, Alberta and now British Columbia. He volunteered in India and Thailand working with elephants, camels, and the stray dog/cat populations there. Most recently he worked for 8 years in the lower mainland before coming to Campbell River in 2025 with his wife, son, and cat.
Dr. Ford has special interest in Dermatology, Internal Medicine and Behaviour; and is looking forward to meeting the members of the community.
