How does pet microchipping work?
Microchipping is a quick and pain-free procedure. The microchip, which is the size of a grain of rice, is implanted under your pet’s skin, usually in between their shoulder blades. The microchip contains details about your pet, as well as your personal information.
Is a pet microchip like a GPS?
Not exactly. The microchip will not let you know your pet’s location at all times. Instead, when your pet is found and brought into an animal hospital or shelter, the microchip can be scanned and those temporarily caring for your pet will have a way to reach out to you. In this way, the microchip is not like a GPS locator, rather it is like a permanent identification card.
